GIRLS SWIMMING: CV'S BEERS EARNS THREE WINS AT CLASS B MEET (2023-11-05)

Colsten Beers won two individual events and helped Chenango Valley's 400-yard free relay team to a convincing victory during the Section 4 Class B swim meet that ended Saturday at Maine-Endwell.

Beers, Jenna Beck, Sophia Bucci and Natalie Turner finished the 400 free relay in 3 minutes, 47.67 seconds -- a more than 10-second victory over runner-up Oneonta.

Beers also won the 200 individual medley in 2:19.20 and the 100 butterfly in 58.33, beating her nearest pursuer in the latter by more than four seconds.

The Warriors, who finished runner-up to the host school for the team title (366-359), received second-place finishes from Beck in the 50 free (25.64) and 100 free (54.87).

Bucci placed third in the 200 free (2:07.25) and fourth in the 500 free (5:43.88).

The Warriors also received a fourth-place finish from Kamryn Hoyt in the 100 breaststroke (1:16.95), a fourth-place finish from Turner in the 100 free (58.25) and a fifth-place finish from Mary Bush in the 100 butterfly (1:07.55).

CV's 200 free relay team of Beck, Bush, Bucci and Turner finished second in 1:44.89.

Windsor's Dakota Payne placed third in the 100 butterfly (1:05.03 and the Black Knights' 400 free relay team finished sixth.
